One would need to visit a vivero in order to purchase plants when in Uruguay. Uruguay’s version of a plant nursery it what is known as viveros, but just as much as the people that own them, these viveros all vary.
In Uruguay, there are quite a few viveros. Probably one of the more popular ones would be in the Atlantida suburb of Las Toscas.
Most definitely, a supreme place for one to start out when it is they are considering botany in this particular Latin American region of the earth.
